Full-Time EAL Teacher

Job Description
Job Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelors/Master’s Degree or equivalent in combination with TESOL/ TEFL, CELTA certificate;
Preferred:
• Minimum 3 years of international teaching experience;
• Prior experience as an EAL Teacher;
• One or more foreign language ability;
Job Responsibilities:
• Teach any level of classes using the IB/Australian curriculum as assigned by the Coordinator;
• Give high quality lessons to children identified as struggling in developing their EAL;
• Model best practice in English as an Additional Language teaching;
• Accept and incorporate feedback on classroom performance given by the Coordinator to ensure consistent
improvement in teaching quality;
• Prepare lesson plans according to established syllabus and submit to the coordinator upon request;
• Accurately record attendance and submit rosters to the coordinator as directed within required deadlines;
• Accurately record student performance and submit Individual Student Reports (ISRs) to the coordinator as
directed within required deadlines;
• Attend instructor’s meetings and in-house workshops to consistently improve teaching skills.
• Work to incorporate new teaching technology into lessons in order to offer a dynamic, engaging, and
enjoyable student experience;
• Create/develop a full school year EAL syllabus based on the WACE curriculum and cross reference with other
quality curriculum such as PYP/MYP, Language Acquisition subject guide;
• Be responsible for school budgets related to EAL development ensuring chosen resources are appropriate,
effective and safe and are used efficiently;
• Collaborate with English language & literature teacher in planning, teaching and assessing students
appropriately;
• Perform other task as assigned by the coordinator/ school Administration;
